Kirkmont Center Donation
On May 16th, 2021 the family of Jerry Randall gathered with the congregation of Xenia United Presbyterian Church to present a donation of $12,300. to Kirkmont Center in Jerry’s name. The monies raised was a combination of donations from XUPC and other friends. Jerry Randall’s passing from Covid-19 in the fall of 2020 deeply affected all that knew him. Jerry had been a member of Memorial Presbyterian for over thirty years and became part of Xenia United Presbyterian when Westminster Presbyterian and Memorial Presbyterian merged in May of 2020. Although Jerry Randall had held many different positions within Memorial’s congregation, being Chair of the Mission Committee was his passion and Kirkmont Center held a very special spot in his heart.
Kirkmont Center is dedicated to outdoor experiences of discovery, learning, and wonder, to the end that individuals and groups grow in their relationship to God, one another, and the earth. The donation was presented to Buzz Reed, the Board Chair of Kirkmont Center. Buzz and Jerry had been friends for many years and had worked together on many projects for Kirkmont Center. Buzz shared the plans for the donation will include upgrading the Prayer Trail, a 300-foot trail with praying stations marked by Christian symbols and updating the Croft House to ADA fire and medical requirements. The Croft House will accommodate large camp groups, so it is used often. To learn more about possible Kirkmont Center experiences and facilities contact www.kirkmontcenter.org.
