Constructores para Cristo
Constructores para Cristo is an organization based in Birmingham, Alabama that builds homes for indigent families in Mexico. Our Church has responded to this mission by sending people to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico eight times since 2001. This program has been closed down due to the drug wars in the city of Piedras Negras. The library this mission created is the only part of the program still operating and Memorial still suports that effort. |
Samaritan's Purse
Samaritan’s Purse is the disaster relief arm of the Billy Graham organization. We have served with this group in the New Orleans, Louisiana area by sending a team to gut houses after hurricane Katrina. |
Disaster Response
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is the arm of the Presbyterian Church USA that responds to disasters in the U.S.A. and throughout the world. We have responded to aid tornados, floods, earthquakes and storms through the PDA, when the need arises. |
International Food & Hunger
We have sponsored and given support through our hunger offerings and CROP WALK several times a year. |
Mexico Mission Trip
On October 8, 2017, Michael Weller, Our Choir Director, was blessed to join a mission group from Georgia to go to Acuna, Mexico to build a house for a sister in Christ. Maria, who is in a wheelchair and missing one leg, was living in the burned out shell of her home.
With the support of Our Church′s Rankin Fund, Michael along with the dedicated Team finished her new home in three days. Your prayers for safety were appreciated and answered for there were no significant injuries or accidents. He was honored to serve Christ and our church in this humbling experience.
